Established in 1976, The Garden Gallery specializes in the conservation and restoration of artwork (paintings, prints, sculpture and statuary), photography, and frames. We offer free evaluations, conservation assessments and estimates at the Gallery. We are also available to work off site at regular travel and time rates.
Photo restoration is a digital process. A high resolution scan or photograph is taken of the damaged photograph. The image is then restored digitally, and a finished electronic file (jpeg) is created, and becomes the property of the customer. We can also make prints if desired. We
can repair almost any kind of damage, including cracks, tears, discoloration,
water damage, mold spots, and red eye. Compositional issues such as
overexposure, underexposure, and backlighting can also be corrected.
Paintings are restored using approved chemicals to clean, neutralize acid activity, eliminate mold, and stop insect activity. Physical issues such as paint loss, deteriorated mountings/backings are addressed and remedial action taken.
Prints can be restored only if their materials are of sufficient quality. All physical problems such as improper mounting, acid and light burn, tears, holes and insect activity will be addressed.
Below are some examples of our work.
